I never expected to be building a new house, but after a serious fire, we had no choice. We had contractors knocking on our door constantly with proposals, wanting the job. I had never met Tom Sweeney of Sweeney Construction previously but had seen his truck parked down the street at a house that also had a fire. Several people had mentioned his name to us as someone we should think about contacting. I gave him a call and the rest is history.

Before signing a contract with Tom, we visited a house he was in the process of renovating. It was a good chance to see work in process, not just a completed project. The workmanship was great and speaking with the homeowner told me I was making the right decision. I believe he went above and beyond the normal contractor for us. He went with us to building inspector meetings, zoning board meetings and dealt with insurance adjusters. Everything in the house was handpicked. He provided us with options when it came to picking cabinets, colors, door styles, tile and flooring. When it came to making decisions about the water heater and heating system he helped us secure a substantial rebate. Tom went shopping with us on more than one occasion. He handled everything for us, from demolition to landscaping. When his crew left at the end of the day, the work area was left orderly. We could go in every night and see what had been completed. We would get calls updating the progress.

Sweeney Construction delivered on time and met our budget. We have a beautiful house that we are proud to own. We would recommend Tom Sweeney to anyone thinking about building a home or addition. Please come by and see his work.

We hired Sweeney Construction to demolish our 5 room, waterfront home and replace it with a 4 bedroom home. Mr Sweeney began this project in January and we were in our home by the end of June. This was 3 weeks earlier than expected. We believe this was due to the diligent work of Tom Sweeney and his crew. They were at our home every day until it was complete. The craftsmanship and attention to detail truly makes our house beautiful, especially in the interior trim details and shelving. We have been pleased with the quality of products. I decided to put an addition on the back of my 200 year old home to make a living space for myself. The plan at the time was to rent the old house and I live in the new addition. Tom Sweeney was referred to me by a very dear friend that sells real estate. I contacted Tom and met him at my home. He took the time to show me some of his work in the Bridgewater area.

I agreed to the contract and I signed. This was my first house building project. Having done many rooms of wallpaper and paint, this was very new and different from any project I have ever done before. I felt confident with Tom as he told me everything he would be doing and an approximate time frame. I picked out flooring, lighting fixtures, appliances etc. All the fun things for a new home.

The addition gives me 1000 square feet of living space. Gracious living room, connecting kitchen with eating area at the bar divider. It also has a spacious bathroom with soaking tub. Good size bedroom with a walk-in closet where the stack able washer and dryer is. There is also a small seating area where I plan to add a pull out sofa to make an overnight guest room.

In the living room Tom's design actually makes the stunning statement of the house. He made a cathedral ceiling which takes everyone’s breath away when they enter either from the side or the back door. From the outside my house looks like a small ranch but when you enter- you quickly change your mind.

I found Tom very easy to converse with and the most important thing was once he started my project, he was there every day until it was finished. You don't find that with many builders. I am so confident with Tom, I have recommended him to a friend of mine who has since built an in-law apartment for their aging father.
